ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Timiro Mohammed - Spoken Word Poet; Singer

Timiro Mohamed is a multidisciplinary artist and anti-racism educator inspired by the generations of storytellers before her.  She is a visual artist, spoken word poet, and published poetry author and columnist. As Edmonton’s former youth poet laureate and recipient of the ACGC Top 30 under 30 awards, she has performed across North America, competed at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word and opened for Dr. Angela Davis and Yasin Bey. She's passionate about the uses of art in community development, anti-racist education, and political advocacy, and looks to an Afro-futurist Black feminist praxis to inform her creative process and approach to systems change.


Latifat Busari- Poet

Latifat Busari (they/them) is a storyteller from the Yorùbá people of Southwest Nigeria, currently residing in Amiskwaciwâskahikan, on Treaty 6 territory of so-called Canada. Faizn- singer/songwriter

Nigerian born and raised Singer/Songwriter Ayomide Okeowo (aka Faizn) is one of the country's best fusers of Afro with RnB, Soul and other genres. He officially kicked off his musical career in 2022 with the release of his first single '2AM' a melodic RnB chill song infused with Afrobeats. Faizn sees his music as his safe haven and hopes to change the world by communicating with his music.
